Sam Anderson, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member - Mr. Anderson, founding member of Phoenix Renewable Energy with many years as a practicing attorney, oversees all aspects of the company. He has many years experience in real estate developing and financial consulting. He also is a partner in CLEC (long distance carrier).
Bill Williams, Director of Energy Development and Board Member - Mr. Williams, a Colorado native, has thirty years experience in energy and real estate industries with a number of successful start-up companies. He founded Altresco International in 1992 which assisted in creating the framework for developing the first major power generating facility to be privately financed and built in a developing country, (the Philippines), without a sovereign financial guarantee. The $840 million dollar facility provides power to the Manila Electric Company. He also founded The Center for Integrated Infrastructure Strategies in 1995 to provide education and assistance to developing countries and energy sectors to facilitate the process of privatization of their energy infrastructure and sustainable environmental policies. CIIS provided services to India, Sri Lanka, China, Korea, The Philippines and Malaysia.
Warren Miles, Director of Operations and Board Member - Mr. Miles, while serving as Operations Manager for Entergy Corporation for thirty-seven years, oversaw the production, transmission, and operations of several energy generating facilities. He is responsible for the operations and oversight of the physical plants and transmission for the company.
Tim Gilbert, Vice President of Wood Pellets Division - Mr. Gilbert holds degrees in Business Management and Technology from Northwestern Business College. He has over twenty years experience in sawmill, papermill, recycling, and biomass industries. During his career he has successfully launched new products into the market while holding key management positions in sales and marketing, services, and has lead design teams.
Matthew Edwards, Vice President of Finance - Matt Edwards most recently served as a vice president of the capital markets group for W. R. Taylor and Company, an investment banking firm specializing in tax exempt bond issues and financial advisory services. Prior to his employment with W. R. Taylor, Mr. Edwards was employed by Column Capital where he originated both debt and equity for Section 42 housing projects. He was responsible for the financial structuring of all projects of the company.
Bob Mathis, Director of Governmental Affairs and Board Member - Mr. Mathis an executive with over twenty years experience in corporate/legislative affairs, as well as economic development and community relations. Mr. Mathis was employed as Regional Manager of External Affairs with SBC Corporation for thirty years with responsibilities for all external activities including coordinating with municipal and county government officials, local chambers of commerce, economic development groups and members of the Arkansas General Assembly. He is well known as a resourceful problem solver with strong organizational, implementation and interpersonal skills with experience as an Arkansas State Representative and past Executive Director with the United Way of Garland County. Mr. Mathis served as Mayor of Hot Springs, Arkansas, while also serving as Campaign Coordinator for United States Senator David Pryor and United States Representative Beryl Anthony. He is presently working as a Public Affairs Consultant, lobbying the Arkansas State Legislature on behalf of several Arkansas clients.
Steve Walker, Director of Development and Board Member - Mr. Walker working with development for RHGI., a national real estate development company, developed over eighty-eight regional and community retail centers throughout the Southern and Western United States. Mr. Walker is responsible for development of projects for the company.
Jeff Staska, Board Member - Mr. Staska has more than twenty years experience as a successful small business owner, CEO, and entrepreneur. He is the past President, CEO, and owner of several telecommunications and ISP companies specializing in fiber optics and broadband wireless internet access. He has extensive professional experience in business operations, management and finance.
David Wilson, Board Member - Mr. Wilson is a United Methodist pastor. He retired in 2006, after serving forty-eight years as a local church pastor and district superintendent. The last fifteen years of his active ministry he served as senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He has an undergraduate degree is from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. Following graduate school in Kansas City, he served churches in El Dorado, DeQueen, Nashville and Little Rock. After leaving Little Rock in 1985, he served as a district superintendent in southwest Arkansas, caring for seventy-two churches. His district responsibilities were bound by the Louisiana line, north to Mena and east to Prescott. His clergy peers elected him to represent them at five General and Jurisdictional Conferences. He initiated the successful effort to unite the two United Methodist Conferences in Arkansas. Because of his planning, organizational, and relational skills clergy and churches often seek his counsel. When in Nashville, he was chair of the board that established the Howard County Children's Center, a school for physically and mentally challenged children, youth and adults. In Hot Springs, he led First United Methodist in the establishment of The Caring Place, an interfaith and interracial ministry to persons with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and their care givers.
Roland O Fjallstrom - Phoenix Renewable Energy Chief Technology Officer - Mr. Fjallstrom has degrees in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering and an extensive background in business finance and economics. His experience ranges from research and development -with more than ten patents - to product development and process engineering. He is a former Sales & Marketing Executive and CEO within the $9 Billion Tetra Laval/Alfa Laval Group of Companies. During his career he has also served as director on multiple boards and advisory committees and has an extensive international business background. Mr. Fjallstrom has participated in or counseled many start-up companies, and has actively participated as a business advisor in several turnarounds of distressed businesses, business optimizations, and market focus/planning and acquisitions. Since early 2000, Mr. Fjallstrom has focused on the renewable energy market, biomass technologies, and advanced combustion technologies and currently serves as the President and CEO of Envio Energi L.L.C., a supplier a biomass combined heat and power (CHP) facilities. Mr. Fjallstrom a native of Sweden, a country that has pioneered and developed the biomass CHP concept to replace fossil fuel as a energy source for heat, cooling and power, has spent an extensive amount of time in Scandinavia researching the most technically superior and proven biomass energy solutions.
Darren Baker-Director of Construction - Darren Baker is the CEO of SBDI Builders. He was the Director of Operations for a large property management company representing Texas and Arkansas. His project management experience includes oversight of commercial builds and remodels for companies like K-Mart and Magnolia Hospital. His experience, knowledge base as well as his demand for high standards and attention to detail has led him to tackle extremely difficult challenges successfully.
Jason R. Willett - Director of Governmental Affairs, Federal - Jason Willett has over a decade of experience working with the Federal Government. He is currently President of FJW Consulting whose focus is economic development specializing in property management. In 2009, Jason became Managing Partner of the WillettMeadows Group - a lobbying firm dealing with governmental business affairs. Jason served as Campaigning Manager for the 2002, and 2004 re-election campaigns of a former congressman and was also the former Chairman of the Democratic Party. He was recognized by Arkansas Business Magazine in 2002 as one of the "40 under 40" business and political leaders in Arkansas. In 2005, he was named an "Outstanding Young Executive by Northeast Arkansas Business Today.
Deidrick Bennett - Comptroller - Mr. Bennett for the past six years has been Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer of RHGI, a national real estate development company. Mr. Bennett is responsible for the control and procedural policies regarding the accounting functions of the company.
Jeff Huitt Phoenix Renewable Energy Chief Financial Officer - Jeff Huitt serves as Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities include financial and accounting operations management, coordination of resources and strategic finance. He has over 20 years' experience in leadership positions of large organizations, start ups and operating companies, most as COO or CFO of green energy, defense, marketing services, telecommunications and wireless technology concerns. He has private and public company experience from start up to Fortune 100. Mr. Huitt is a CPA and holds two degrees from the University of Denver: a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master's in Business Administration.
